Pipher, a 15 year old boy growing up in an orphanage from which he flees drawn by the attractions of the sea and intrigued by its origins and for powers he believes he has. Along the way, Pipher meets all sorts of wonderful beings, discovers extraordinary places and discovers friendship, love and danger by the hand of a powerful cast of secondaries.
